My name is Elena Cabitza, and I am a graphic artist from Sardinia (Italy). I developed an interest in art and music since the young age, and in 2010 I started my graphic studies at the Fine Arts Academy, in Sassari. From 2013 to 2016 I lived in Milan for the MA in Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano, and I attended the class of Editorial Illustration at CFP Bauer. In Milan I’ve been in touch with different artists and designers who helped me learn new styles and techniques in many areas, especially thanks to the amazing experience with the creative studio Mammafotogramma. In Fall 2016 I moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland (Canada) where I currently live, and I’m always looking forward to new inspirations and experiences.
In my work the musical “fanzine” world merges with the pop surrealism’s forms and shapes, the rock’n’roll image meets the cute weirdness of freaks and misfit creatures, with the use of various techniques and materials. The obscure and occult was always a fascinating world to me, but I also have a strong attraction to science and nature facts. These are the worlds where my creatures live.
